Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, New Years 2007

01-StowawayLike a Frat party, only older and drunker…Cabo San Lucas is at the tip of Mexico’s 1,000-mile long Baja California peninsula. It is one of those destinations that the Upgrade me for Free travel staff seeks out. With a perfect combination of great weather, exotic scenery, and wonderful hospitality. There’s something for everyone under the Baja sun, just be ready to relax! Excursions range from world class sport fishing, whale watching, scuba diving with sea lions and parasailing to canopy tours, dune buggy rides, and desert hikes. Cabo San Lucas is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Sea of Cortez to the east. The towering La Laguna mountains provide a scenic backdrop. The whole Los Cabos area is known as a premier destination for outdoor sports and recreation.

The night life is also world class. Club and bar hopping on foot is easy in compact Cabo San Lucas. The three most famous clubs – Cabo Wabo, El Squid Roe, and the Giggling Marlin are easily stumbled to. The old saying of “what happens in Cabo, stays in Cabo” likely came about due to the affect of Tequila on your brain cells. If you don’t remember what happened, it wont go any further!

On the down side, Cabo does not offer much in the way of historical landmarks. If you like architectural photography, go somewhere else. There are good opportunities for sunset photos, especially at El Arco, probably the most emblematic landmark of Cabo.
